Kogi poll: Kogi needs gov with experience, capacity, maturity ― Wada

A former governor of Kogi State, Capt Idris Wada, has charged the people of the state to demand experience, knowledge and maturity as qualities and credentials the next governor of the state should have if the state must survive another four years.

Wada, who is also a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said only a separation of the boys from the men would enable the people to have good governance.

He lamented that many people joined the governorship race in the state thinking that if Governor Yahaya Bello can be governor, they too can be.

According to him, the plethora of many aspirants in the forthcoming coming governorship election was a reflection of the deficiency experienced in governance caused by the incumbent.

Wada, however, expressed satisfaction that some of the aspirants in the PDP who couldn’t buy their nomination form have collapsed their structures into his.

The PDP Guber hopeful described the experience, capacity, the need to change positively and better the lives of Kogi State people as his strongest points, saying he had the solution to the current spate of youths restiveness in the state.

The former governor was definitive about the payment of salaries, insisted that if he is reelected, he would continue to make payment of salaries and pension a priority, adding that his various management experiences would be employed, brought to bear to clear the Kogi mess created by the years of bad governance.

Wada urged the Kogi people not to make fat and deep financial pocket and bank account of aspirants be the deciding factors in who becomes governor, adding that it would be counterproductive in the long run as such politician would be concerned about their returns on investment.

He warned against voting the wrong persons in government in November, insisting that another four years of misrule in Kogi would lead to the collapse of the state, as salaries could no longer be paid, and there will be no infrastructure.

He expressed satisfaction with the measure of support his aspiration enjoyed when he toured the local government of recently, says unlike other aspirants, he has legacies, projects and impacts speaking for him across the state, unlike others who are green horn’s.

Wada disabused the minds of many people about his capacity to challenge the violent tendencies of the APC led administration, saying though a man of peace, who does not encourage violence, he would return every dose of violence meted against him and the PDP members in the November governorship election.
