The Kogi state command of the Nigeria Police on Thursday paraded 20 suspects, including an 18-year-old girl and one of the killers of the state chairman of the Maiyatti Allah Cattle Dealers, for kidnapping, armed robbery and homicide.
The girl, Happy Ameh, was arrested along with two men, Enemona Godwin and Solomon Anthony by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) along Ikeje-Otukpa in Ankpa local government area of Kogi state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Anya, while parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Lokoja, said the suspects were arrested with military uniform, locally made pistol and 150 wraps of Indian hemp.
Ameh however confessed to being a member of the gang, saying she had participated in three robbery operations.
The police also arrested Umar Abubakar in connection with the assassination of the cattle dealer chairman, Ibrahim Jalido, late last year.
Apart from this, the police also arrested three people, Adamu Lamun, Musa Audu and Bodori Idea, in connection with kidnapping and armed robbery.
The suspects are accused of kidnapping one Aishatu Shehu, on February 4, 2017 and collecting N500,000 as ransom before she was released.
He said they were arrested with two single barrel guns and twenty empty cartridges.
Anya noted that the new commissioner of police in the state, Wilson Inalegwu, had adopted new strategies in combatting criminality in the state.
He explained that the move led to the arrests, saying the command was ready to rid the state of criminals.
