Kogi: PDP elects new state excos

The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday elected Hon. Enemona Anyebe as the state chairman of the party.

He won the election with 1,632 votes.

The election, which took place during the Kogi State PDP Congress held in Lokoja on Saturday, also saw a former local government chairman, Alhaji Yahaya Karaku, emerge as Deputy State Chairman.

Chairman of the Kogi State PDP Congress Committee, Senator Istifanus Gyang from Plateau State, who announced the results, congratulated the newly elected members of the state executive committee on their victories at the State Congress.

He stated that 2,898 accredited delegates from across the 21 local government areas in Kogi State participated in the congress.

Senator Gyang commended the peaceful conduct of the elections, which were held in accordance with party rules.

He urged the newly elected state executives of the party to work hard to unite all members and ensure the party reclaims the state in 2027.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman, Anyebe, thanked all the delegates for placing their confidence in him and the other elected members of the SEC.

He promised to lead the party to victory in future elections.

Anyebe pledged to unite all members of the PDP in Kogi State and make the party attractive to others who are willing to join.

Other executive members elected include Sunday Olufemi Ibrahim as State Secretary; Abdulkadir Ibrahim as Organizing Secretary; Senibi Segun as Legal Adviser; Paul Ukwenya as Financial Secretary; Umoru Tijani Aruwa as Publicity Secretary; Audu Siyaka Uhanaye as Treasurer; Jude Sulle as Auditor; Mrs. Esther Soje as Women Leader; Yunusa Adazaki as Youth Leader; Hon. Igagwu Haruna as State Vice Chairman (East); Hon. Anthony Akuvada as State Vice Chairman (Central); and Ibrahim Taiwo as State Vice Chairman (West).

Also elected were Emmanuel Daku as Assistant Financial Secretary; Salawu Fortune Omuya as Assistant Treasurer; Adebisi John as Assistant Youth Leader; Toluhi Michael Segun as Assistant Organizing Secretary; Ajiboye Ola Bolaji as Assistant Publicity Secretary; Olu Olusoji as Assistant State Secretary; Ajibulu Osward Olutimehin as Assistant Auditor; Comfort Omolayo Oloni as Ex-Officio; Isa Husseni as Ex-Officio; Abdulrahman Fruq Musa as Ex-Officio; Mashud Hasiya as Ex-Officio; Ben Ugbaje Ebi as Ex-Officio; and Sule Abdulwahab Garba as Ex-Officio.
