Kogi HoS commends STTEB co-operative management’s outstanding performance

Kogi State Head of Service, Mrs Hannah Odiyo, has commended the STTEB Cooperative Society for its outstanding performance.

Mrs Odiyo, who gave the commendation on Wednesday at the inauguration of the new STTEB Cooperative House at the Secretariat premises in Lokoja, said she was surprised that there could still be an honest cooperative executive to execute such a project despite the harsh economy.

The Head of Service, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Training, Mrs Elizabeth Oloruntoba, noted that the STTEB Cooperative has remained a pride to all and urged civil servants to make good use of the opportunity.

Mrs Odiyo assured that her office will continue to support initiatives that are geared towards enhancing the general welfare of workers.

The Executive Secretary of STETSCOM, Mrs Cecelia Cook, who was represented by the Director of Quality Assurance, Abubakar Ahmed Tijani, described cooperatives as a vital tool needed for life sustainability.

Also in their remarks, the Director of Cooperatives, Mr. Balogun Samuel, and the State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, Comrade Tijani Ahmed Sule, enjoined members to support the present executive and avoid greedy persons who may want to destroy the cooperative society.

They all praised the President of the Cooperative Society, Mr. Augustine Edime Oju, for making them proud through his exceptional performance in the execution of a multimillion-naira cooperative house.

Earlier, the President of the society, Mr Augustine Edime Oju, said the project was completed within three months, saying the feat was achieved through prudent management of resources.

Mr. Edime Oju expressed appreciation to the BOT members, management, and cooperators for their support, which culminated in the achievement.

The cooperative president assured that he would continue to lead by example, adding that leadership is a responsibility.
