Kogi State has approved the construction of 9 kilometers of road each across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State.
The state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo stated this in a message to the third delegate conference of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools in Lokoja.
Represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, the Governor said his administration is poised to develop the rural areas to make life more meaningful and comfortable for the citizens.

According to him, the present administration under his watch is doing a lot to reposition the education sector, ranging from the free education policy, payment of bursary awards to students of the State origin in tertiary institutions and recently approval and constitution of the Secondary Education Board among others
He called on members of ASUSS to remain one indivisible Unions all their requests would be looked into with a view to addressing them soon.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, to the governor appealed for continued support of members of the Union as the present administration is labour friendly with one year tax waivers for workers to cushion the effect of the present economic hardship.
He expressed joy in the seamless process of Union elections in Kogi State assuring the support of his office at all times to achieve set goals.
The SA caution against all divisive tendencies among Union members but rather rally round their leaders to succeed in office.
He congratulated the outgoing executive members of ASUSS led by Comrade Ojo Ranti Matthew for exemplary performance in office and the new executive led by Comrade Emejeh Ogwu Sunday urging them to continue to work as a team.
