Kogi govt decries slow pace of Odenyi-Oguma-Sheria road project

KOGI State government has expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work on the Odenyi -Oguma- Sheria road and bridge construction project.

Commissioner for Works, Mohammed Ahovi Yusuf who was at Oguma in Bassa Local Government Area of the state  on inspection decried the level of work.

Yusuf, who frowned on the lack of professionalism and lackadaisical attitude on the part of the contractor, said the project had been stalled for a long time.

He, therefore, charged the contractor to expedite action on the project and complete it before the rainy season sets in.

Yusuf emphasised the commitment of the state government and the determination of Governor Usman Ododo to deliver on its promises of alleviating the sufferings of the people in the area while assuring them that plans are in top gear to complete the work as soon as possible.

The transition committee chairman of Bassa Local Government Area, Mr Theophilus Adama, who appreciated the state government’s efforts on the project, berated the slow pace of work and appealed to the government to facilitate its completion.

Also, an indigene of the area, Dangara Daniel commended the commissioner for the visit and requested the government to intensify efforts and ensure that the project is completed within a short period.
