The President of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Dr Pogu Bitrus, represented by Vice President Mal. Idi Waziri, described Kogi State as a unique and vital component in the development of the Middle Belt region.
Dr Bitrus lauded Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for his contributions to making the region proud and expressed optimism that the newly inaugurated executives would unite to prioritise the interests of the region.
He urged the executives to work diligently to ensure that future generations maintain their culture and traditions.
In his acceptance speech, newly elected Chairman Mr. David Ehimony committed to continuing the struggle for the emancipation of the Middle Belt, ensuring that its voice is heard in socio-economic matters. He emphasised Kogi State’s pivotal role in advocating for the Middle Belt’s rightful place in the broader development landscape.
The new executive committee includes Hon. Shittu Omala as Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Raji Usman as Secretary, Hon. Philip Orebiyi as Vice Chairman (West), and Hon. Elesho Abiodun as Financial Secretary. Other members elected are Comr. Suleiman Mas (youth leader), Comr. Adeiza Momohjimoh (publicity secretary), Pastor Moses Bako (cultural officer), Mrs. Aturu Christina (women leader), Hon. Awal Inman (treasurer), Hon. Isiaka Mamudu (assistant secretary), Barr. Abdulrahman Wuya Okpasco (legal adviser), Mr. Collins Adama (organising secretary), Dr. A.M. Rabiu (Vice Chairman Central), and Hon. Bako Shigaba (Vice Chairman East).
