Mr. Hassan Isyaka Ibori, a farmer from Lafia-Obessa community in Okehi LGA, Kogi State, has made a desperate appeal for help following the tragic loss of his wife, Nana Hawa Ibori, who passed away shortly after giving birth to their twin daughters.
The incident occurred on June 2, 2024, at a private hospital in Anyone community, Adavi LGA. Ibori, who was filled with joy after the successful birth of his daughters, was plunged into sorrow when his wife died just an hour later.
“I took my wife to the hospital around 4 am, and she delivered a set of female twins around 7 am successfully,” he recounted, his voice heavy with emotion.

“Shortly after the delivery, she started complaining of stomach pain. The nurse gave her an injection to relieve the pain, but she died about an hour later. It was so painful losing my wife shortly after she gave birth to our twins.”
Ibori, who relies on farming to support his family, has faced significant challenges in providing for his children.
“For the past two years, the Fulani herdsmen have been destroying our farmlands, leaving us with little to no harvest. It has not been easy feeding the twins and my other children,” he lamented.
In his tearful plea, Ibori called on the state government, the governor’s wife, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, and other compassionate individuals to assist him.
“I have exhausted all my savings in taking care of the babies. I am pleading with our Mummy, the wife of our Governor, Hajia Shekinat Usman Ododo, to come to my aid,” he implored.
Despite his dire circumstances, Ibori expressed gratitude to his community members for their support.
