Kogi ASCSN condemns invasion of national secretariat by suspected thugs

Kogi State Branch and Chapter of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) have condemned the unprovoked invasion of its national secretariat in Lagos allegedly by the expelled former president, Innocent Bola Audu, and some hired thugs in the company of some retired staff on Monday.

Tribune Online gathered that Innocent Bola Audu was a former president of the Association but was suspended and later expelled from the Union after he was accused of human trafficking and exploitation of the vulnerable by NAPTIP.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Branch Chairman of the Association,  Comrade Akeji Yusuf Aaron, the Chapter Chairman Com. Ademu Dominic and State Secretary, Com. Kolawole James, the association regretted the unfortunate and uncivilized actions of these expelled members of the association who abandoned the Court processes initiated by Mr Innocent Bola Audu and has resorted to extra-judicial means to return to power

”The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria is made up of the cream of educated, knowledgeable, and civilized members in the Public Services of the Federal and 36 States Governments  cherish due process and decorum in managing its affairs and such act hooliganism should not have a place in the association

”The former president’s show of gangsterism, brigandage and hooliganism should have no place in the 21st century as tools for trade union practices.”

They called on law enforcement agencies to hold the former president and his cohorts responsible if any staff of the Union at the National Secretariat in Lagos and Abuja was harmed in any way.

The Kogi State Council therefore restated its confidence in the National President of the Association, Comrade Tommy Etim Okon PhD, and the Secretary-General, Alade Bashir Lawal, and urged them to remain steadfast and continue to defend the Union.
