Kogi agog as Atiku campaign train hits Lokoja

THE presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and the leadership of the party are expected in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital today (Monday) for the state presidential campaign.

The state capital is already agog in preparation for the campaign that takes place at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium as major spots in the town were dotted with the PDP campaign materials.

The Kogi state chairman of the Atiku/Obi campaign council and former governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, told Journalists on Sunday that the state chapter was ready to receive the party’s presidential candidate and other dignitaries.

He said the campaign would avail people of the state the opportunity to know what the presidential candidate have to offer Nigerians and the state in particular.

According to him, the people of the state had always been eager to receive Atiku, as they are confident that his coming to salvage the country from untold hardship and insecurity.

“We are ready, we are prepared to receive our next President Insha Allah. Every necessary arrangement has been put in place for the campaign visit,” he added.

Also Speaking, the state chairman of the party, Samuel Uhuotu, said machinery had been put in motion to ensure a hitch-free programme.

He stressed that the campaign would receive a lot of dignitaries within an abroad including National Assembly members and PDP governors in the country.

The chairman said the campaign would be used to present the party’s flags to the national assembly and state assembly candidates in the general election.
