Killings of oil workers in Imo: Commissioner of Police vows to track down perpetrators

The new commissioner of Police in Imo State, CP Hussaina Rabiu, has vowed to track down the perpetrators of the heinous attack on the oil workers in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State.

The CP said that already police tactical teams had been dispatched to the area to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book.

The Commissioner of Police during his maiden briefing, who described the incident as unfortunate, insisted that the Command would do whatever thing within their powers to arrest those behind the dastardly act.

Rabiu stated the determination of the state Command to flush out all manner of crimes and criminals vigorously in the state.

He said: “I made bold to say that there will be no hiding place for criminals anywhere in Imo State.”

While he assured to maintain zero tolerance to extortion and any other corrupt practice from officers, the CP vowed to deal decisively with any officer who infringes on the right of members of the public.

Rabiu said he was aware of the current security situation in Imo State, assuring that under his watch as Commissioner of Police, the command would ensure that all Imo residents sleep with both eyes closed.

He said that the Command would focus on partnering with the stakeholders in various communities in the state to ensure the policing of their environment in line with IGP Alkali Baba Usman mandate on community policing and people-oriented policing principles.
