Killings: Group to hold protest walk in Lagos

Published by

TO protest the incessant killings and bloodshed across the country, a non-governmental organisation under the aegis of Peace Action Coalition (PAC) will next week hold a walk to call attention to the need for all stakeholders especially government, to work on putting an end to bloodshed in the land.

The walk which is being held by the Peace Action Coalition in conjunction with Builders of New Nigeria (BNN) and other NGOs according to the groups is to speak against the continuous killings which have assumed a desperate and frightening dimension in the country because it can no longer be ignored.

The walk tagged, ‘Walk For Peace’ according to the spokesperson of the group, Mr Ranti Thomas, will hold on November 29, 2018, will kick off from Maryland bus stop to Alausa, Ikeja Lagos.

“The Walk is towards ensuring the final stoppage of the mindless carnage; the walk will ignite the Nigerian Peace Revolution. We believe this urgent and timely intervention will reassure our disturbed, dismissed and distressed populace that there are still people who are resolute and committed to the New Nigeria Dream and are ready to inspire support for safety, security and stability which would create a better and greater Nigeria.

“The injustice and impoverishment drove our people out of the country into the cruel hands of aliens who are killing and harvesting their body parts for sale,” the body stated.

PAC further stated that since independence, the average Nigerian citizen has remained almost as worthless as can be imagined, adding that “the situation of life in Nigeria has become the butt of all kinds of local, national and international hostilities with no visible sign of respite anywhere in sight.”

While calling on all patriots to join in the walk, the organization further said the ‘Walk For Peace’ will mark the beginning of an active constitutional commitment to the stoppage of all the mindless bloodletting that have now aggressively overtaken the land and dangerously threatening to consume the entire nation.

“Enough is enough, We shall no longer look on while our dear nation conflagrates,” the group said.
