The Gobir Development Association (GDA) has condemned the relentless attacks and killings of Hausa people by bandits in Gobir, Sokoto, urging the Federal and state governments to intervene.
At a press conference in Kano on Monday, GDA spokesperson Alhaji Ilyasu Yusuf called for an end to the senseless killings and abductions, citing the kidnapping and murder of late Sarki Gobir as a stark example.
“Our patience is fast running out,” Yusuf warned.
“We demand that the Federal and Sokoto State Governments strengthen security in Sokoto East and Sabon Birni Local Government and return the body of late Sarki Gobir for a befitting burial.”
The GDA also appealed for sustained military operations against bandits and relief for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
