Kidnappers abduct LG vice chairman in Ogun, demands N50m ransom

Suspected kidnappers have abducted tbe new Vice Chairman of the Transition Committee in Remo North Local Government of Ogun State, Hon. Taiwo Soniyi.

Tribune Online  gathered that Soniyi was abducted on Thursday, along Fidiwo -Ipara, in the council area, and his destination at the time of filing this report still unknown.

It was learnt that the vehicle in which the victim was at the time of the incident was taken away by the kidnappers, but later found at Fidiwo.

However, the Ogun State Police Command has vowed to arrest the suspected kidnappers and rescue the local government boss unhurt.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in an interview with newsmen, said the Command was aware of the incident.

He said,”It is true but we are on the trail of the suspects. The man was abducted around Fidiwo-Ipara road. We are on top of the situation and very soon, the victim will be rescued.”
