Kidnappers abduct acting Rector of Benue Polytechnic

The Police Command in Benue State has officially confirmed the abduction of Dr. Emmanuel Barki, the acting Rector of Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo.

According to Mr Sewuese Anene, the Public Relations Officer, Dr Barki, and several others were abducted while returning to Ugbokolo after an official trip to Makurdi.

The group, which included the management staff of the polytechnic and their driver, was reportedly seized and taken into the bush, leaving their vehicle abandoned on the highway.

Chief Joseph Har, the Adviser to the Governor on Internal Security, affirmed that security personnel have initiated efforts to rescue the victims.
