Kidnapped Germans regain freedom

THE two kidnapped German archaeologist, Professor Peter Breunij, and his research assistant, Johannes Buringer, have regained their freedom.
Though there was scanty information about how they were freed and whether a ransom fees was paid for their lease.

It was learnt that their abductors have demanded for N60m ransom before they would released the abductors.

“The abductors have asked for N30m for each of the Germans,” source revealed.

Reacting to their freedom, the Kaduna State government had commended the security agencies for security the release of the two Germans.

This was contained in a statement issued to Tribune Online on Sunday and signed by the governor’s spokesman, Mr Samuel Aruwan.

The statement reads in part: “Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has commended the security agencies for their efforts in securing the release of the Germans.

“While the state government is happy over this development, it is determined to partner with the security agencies in its efforts to continue to protect the lives of its citizenry.”
