Keeping fit in old age

I am a 70-year-old man who is very much concerned about his health. Kindly let me know how to keep fit at my age.

It is important at your age to start by making health and fitness a lifestyle. If you are overweight, go on a diet and start losing weight. You can spend lavish sums on fancy diet plans, but weight loss requires two elements: eating less and exercising more. There is no pill you can take that will cause you to lose weight. A lifestyle change has to happen. Gain control of your appetite and you are in control of your life. Throw away junk food, give up fast food, and stop eating at night while sitting in front of a TV.

However, anyone can get results if self-controlled about diet and exercise. Once you lose weight and start eating healthy, settle into this pattern over the long haul.

Also, before beginning a diet and exercise plan, see your doctor and get a health screening. Annual physicals can catch major health issues before they become more problematic. Furthermore, if you smoke cigarettes, throw them away. Smoking shaves years off people’s lives. You will also reduce future health care costs from lung cancer, heart disease, emphysema, or a combination of all three.
