Kebbi to hold mega rally for Gov Idris’ second term bid, Wednesday

A mega rally in support of Kebbi Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasiru Idris, is set to hold on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in the state capital.

The rally, tagged “We Stand with Kaura,” aims to drum up support for Governor Idris’ second term bid.

This was disclosed by Head of the organising committee for the rally, Abubakar Kalgo.

Abubakar said prior to the 2023 general elections, “Kebbi electorate engaged in fervent prayers seeking Allah’s intervention to have a God-fearing Leadership capable of promoting peaceful coexistence, accelerated economic progress and developmental attainments.”

He pointed out that consequent to these prayers, “Allah in his infinite mercy brought His Excellency Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, (Kauran Gwandu) as the elected Governor of Kebbi State and now barely 2 years after his formal inauguration the State has recorded unprecedented levels of development in all the spheres of endeavours”.

“We are all living witnesses to the developmental strides recorded by the Governor’s administration in the provision of public Infrastructures, Educational upliftment, Healthcare delivery, Social Services, Youth empowerment, and creation of sustainable investments in the State.

“Reflecting on sectoral success stories,
the State Capital was no more a Local Government Headquarters prior to the Nasiru Idris administration but now turned into an Ultramodern City adorned with beautifully laid down Roads, Drainages, Solar Powered street lights to the admiration of all residents and visitors alike.”

Kalgo expressed that as patriotic citizens of Kebbi, his group is concerned with “its development and pleased with the transformation agenda of the governor in Agriculture and sustainable investments as evident in the number of programs initiated under the Kaura Development Agenda (KADAGA) that saw the procurement of assorted fertilizers, improved seedlings, solar-powered irrigation Machines, and other farming implements free of charge in the last 2 years”.

The group leader also pointed out that, despite series of challenges, the security situation in the State has improved significantly due to the proactiveness, teamwork of addressing the menace across the State.
