The Kebbi State Government, in conjunction with China Zhounghou Nigeria Ltd., signed an estimated N3.822 billion for the rehabilitation of Yauri township roads on Monday.

The contract, which entails the rehabilitation and reconstruction of four roads in Yauri town, is for the local government Dawanau junction, the market roundabout, and Tashar Garkuwa.

Other roads captured in the contract, according to the Hon. Commissioner of Works and Transport, Hon. Abdullahi Umar Faruk, are Garkan Dudu-Liberia junction and Police Station/Union Bank roads, all in Yauri town.

The Commissioner explained that the general scope of work for the project is complete scarification of the existing carriageway, construction of RC drains and culverts, and provision of subbase and base courses.

Others are the provision of MCI and asphalt overlays, shoulder surface dressing, the result of existing drains, and any other directions from the project engineer.

Engineer Umar Fauk on behalf of the Ministry expressed profound appreciation to the State Governor, Comrade (Dr.) Nasiru Idris, for the confidence reposed by the Ministry of Works and Transport to supervise the exception to the contract.

He assured that the Ministry would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the highest quality of work is maintained throughout the eighteen-month duration of the project.
