Kcee delves into culture, creates magic with Eastern Culture album

Limpopo master, Kcee has finally released his much-talked album, Eastern Culture. Kcee, in this album,  traced his roots, taking his fans along on a journey to revive the Nigerian culture.

From the choice of his traditional attire, which reflects his culture to the sound and other creative dimension to the project, Kcee made conscious efforts to show his fans, especially his critics that music, for him, was not just about passion, but also culture and tradition.

An average South-East man loves music. The Igbo culture appreciates melodious tunes. This is what Kcee tries to preach in his new studio work.

From his first album, Take Over to Attention to Detail and now Eatsern Conference, Kcee seems to be telling those who care to listen, that he wants to remain relevant in the industry for a long time.

All songs on the album were produced by Blaq Jerzee, mixed and mastered by STG.

This album, according to kcee was carefully curated to appreciate the Nigerian culture, and comes as Kcee’s third studio album, a feat that is not easy to come by among today’s crop of Afro pop musicians.

In the last two years, the Five Star Music house has been embroiled in one drama or another with many people pointing fingers at owners of the label- Kcee and E-money for their failure to keep the storm in their camp calm.

Not too long, the storm consumed the house and threw away one of its best hands, Harrysong, who was said to have quit the label that pushed him to prominence, saying he was not being ‘appreciated enough for his immense contribution to the survival of the label’

Kcee would later develop a new attitude and new response to questions about his survival following Harrysong’s exit. There were concerns that the label’s music room had left leaving only Skibii Mayana and Kcee to their fate. Skibii would later quit on a gentleman agreement to float his label.

In the days, weeks and months that followed, the bitterness was revived as all eyes were on the record label to see how they would pull it off and rise above the storm. But kcee and his business mogul brother, E-money were unruffled. They kept to their game and pushed on to the amusement of their detractors.

Kcee dropped a few singles, videos and remained committed to his craft, the result of which is the new album. Excited about the new project, Kcee said the album was a careful mix of pop and highlife. The album, according to him is going to be timeless. Fans are waiting to have a feel of what the Limpopo Master has prepared for them.

He has also announced that for the first time, he and his Kcee Limpopo band will be performing in all major eastern cities. “The #EasternConference concert tour will kick off with Owerri on the 19 Umuahia 21, Enugu 26, Awka 28 all in the month of April.
