Katsina town is Agog today, as dignitaries from different parts of the country trooped to Bani Coomassie Juma’at Mosque to attend the wedding fatiha of four daughters of Frontline politician, business mogul and philanthropist, Sen. Yakubu Lado Danmarke.
The guests were received by the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda who accompanied them to the wedding venue alongside dozens of other dignitaries that include federal and state lawmakers, District Heads and other traditional title holders, business men, captains of industry and politicians from different parts of the country.
The brides are Rukayya, Maryam, Fatima and Dr. Zainab Yakubu Lado whose hands were given in marriage by business mogul Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal on the behalf of Sen. Lado.
Rukayya Yakubu Lado was wedded to Abubakar Zaharaddeen who was represented by former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Sadiq Abubakar while Fatima Yakubu Lado was wedded to Khalid Kabir Barkiya who was represented by his father, Sen. Kabir Barkiya.
Similarly, Dr. Zainab Yakubu Lado was wedded to Prof. Wasiju Madina Almustafa, Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State stood in for the groom during the wedding pronouncement.
On her part, Sabira Yakubu Lado was wedded to Aminu Abubakar Musa who was represented by the Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Umar Namadi.
The wedding fatiha was also attended by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the 361 political wards of Katsina State and dozens of party bigwigs from including a former Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Alhaji Mustafa Inuwa, and masses who are trooping and commenting “ah ! we must attend, Lado is man of the people.”.
The Katsina State Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’a wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheik Yakubu Musa Hassan led prayers for a blissful married life for the brides and grooms and made supplications for peace and sustainable development of the country.
A former Senator, former House of Representatives Member, former board member at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), former Chairman of Kankara Local Government, and three-time runner-up in Katsina State governorship elections, Sen. Yakubu Lado has remained a politician to reckon with in Katsina State and at national level.
He has also earned a name as a philanthropist who offers various forms of assistance to orphans, widows, IDPs, students, politicians, and less privileged persons.
