The warning was issued by actress, Kate Henshaw, who some people, believed belonged to the old generation of Nollywood that was said to have been blown away by the new Nollywood storm pervading the industry for more than five years.
The actress blew hot on twitter in her reaction to the what is being described as new Nollywood, and warned those behind the idea to stop engaging in divisive trends capable of causing disharmony, noting that” This is the same divisive trend that breeds disharmony in the nation.”
Henshaw noted that the argument about old and new Nollywood should not arise, because Nollywood remained one. “I don’t get this argument or shade about Old Nollywood vs New Nollywood. Nollywood is Nollywood. This is the same divisive trend that breeds disharmony in the nation. Nollywood started somewhere so did Hollywood,” she warned.
Also condemning the argument, actress Rita Dominic insisted that there was no need for anybody to claim that Nollywood was new or old, pointing out that “Nollywood is Nollywood, people should stop bringing up the idea of one is new or old.”
