As part of its strategic expansion into Africa, frontline coatings company, Kansai Plascon, has announced the opening of its Nigeria office, as a way of bringing its range of premium paints products closer to Nigerian consumers.
Expressing his delight at the quality attendance, witnessed at the launch, in Lagos, the company’s President, Mr Hiroshi Ishino, stated that the company, which had been around for a while, changed its name in 2012 from Plascon South Africa to Kansai Plascon, to enable it further deliver top quality products to consumers around the world.
While expressing the readiness of the company to work with local partners, in order to ensure the growth and development of those operating environments, he added that the company’s business strategies are always designed, in full consideration of the culture and unique aspects of each African country it intends to operate.
“We embrace the culture and unique aspects of each African country we enter, to ensure we develop our business with the utmost respect and consideration for each country and as the Power House of Africa, especially the West African Region. We actually studied the Nigerian marketplace thoroughly before entering into it.
“It also took three years of investigation, discussions, negotiations and development of understanding in Nigeria, before we found the right partners to join hands with to enter Nigeria,” he stated.
He added that the choice of Paints and Coatings Manufacturers Nigeria (PCMN), as its local partner, was informed by its strength in the manufacturing business, its presence in key strategic locations in Nigeria, its knowledge and total commitment to quality and service, which match perfectly with Kansai Plascon business ethics.
As a way of demonstrating its commitment towards investing and enhancing local communities, the company, he said, had donated paints and educational materials to pupils of Shogunle and Temidire primary schools in Lagos, through its brand icon, Louis Saha, a foremost Manchester United player.
The launch, which had in attendance the representative of the Minister for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Mr Ibikunle Adams; Ambassador of Japan to Nigeria, Mr Sadanobu Kusaoke and other dignitaries, afforded guests the opportunity to have a feel of the company’s premium paints, produced with state-of-the-art technology.
