It will be recalled that the victim, a resident of Zakirai Town, Gabasawa Local Government Area (LGA), was kidnapped on 8 March 2025, with the abductors demanding a ransom of N15 million.
However, a statement by the police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, noted that police operatives apprehended five suspects and successfully rescued the victim on 17 March 2025.
The Public Relations Officer stated that the recovered funds were formally handed over to the owner through the Chairman of Gabasawa LGA, Hon. Sagir Usman Abubakar, who expressed his gratitude to the Kano State Police for their swift response and professionalism in handling the case.
Hon. Abubakar stated, “This exemplary action by the Kano State Police Command reassures us that security agencies are working tirelessly to combat crime and protect lives and property. We commend their dedication and effectiveness in resolving this matter.”
The statement quoted the Commissioner of Police (CP) Ibrahim Adamu Bakori as reaffirming the commitment of the Kano State Police Command to ensuring the safety and security of residents, emphasising that justice will be served.
He encouraged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement by providing valuable information to aid in crime prevention and investigation.
