The Chairperson of the Kano state chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Hafsat Sani, and three other officials have resigned from their positions in the association.
Also, other officials who resigned are the secretary, Elizabeth Yila, the assistant secretary, Ruquayya Umar, and the treasurer, Shamsiyya Ibrahim.
However, their resignation occurred during a congress meeting held at NUJ hall on Monday, while Chairperson Hafsat Sani announced their resignation, citing personal reasons.
When speaking, the secretary, Mrs Elizabeth Yila, disclosed that they were appointed, not elected and have equally carried out the responsibilities bestowed on them to the best of their capacity.
She, however, stated that, “it has nothing to do with what you are thinking, and whatever you think is the reason, just take it like that, but we are sorry. We have made it official with our signatures.
She then appreciated members for their support and urged them to continue to support the Association in all areas.
