The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Ado Kibiya, has criticized the recent local government election in the state, describing it as “totally devoid of all democratic processes” and “completely truncated.”
Kibiya made the statement at a press conference, citing the lack of democracy and integrity in the election. He emphasized that the PDP’s decision not to participate in the election was due to the absence of democratic processes, which made the election unfair and undemocratic.
The PDP chairman also outlined his vision for the party, which includes enhancing democracy, producing credible leaders, and implementing a ten-year development program to address social, educational, religious, and economic issues affecting the state.
Kibiya called on all citizens, including non-party members, to join the PDP in building a brighter future for Kano State. He emphasized the importance of working together to create a responsive, transparent, and accountable government.
“Let us work hand-in-hand to create a government that is responsive, transparent, and accountable.
“The time for change is now, and together we will succeed. Success can only be achieved if we work together and re-enforced one another,” he said.
