Kano govt reopens driving institute with 250 new candidates

The Kano state governor, Abba Yusuf has reopened the Kano driving institute closed down by the immediate past regime, while 250 candidates have been admitted as maiden set.

Making this known, while delivered his address at the event at the venue of the event in Kano, the governor expressed the need to revive those institutions to provide skills to teaming youths and job opportunities.

According to him,” This one of the several Institutions established by the regime of Rabiu Kwankwaso that were closed down by the former governor Abdullahi Ganduje administration.

“This is one of the 26 institutes established by the administration of the former state governor Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

“Back then I was the commissioner for works and housing when they we’re established for the training of youths and providing them with various skills opportunities.

“It is disheartening that all the Institutes were shot down for no just cause by the immediate past administration.

“This has far reaching consequences not only on the structures, but on the 505,280 youths that would have benefitted from the institutes in the last eight years.

“This driving institute is reopened to train and empower our teaming youths to learn safe and well equipped driving knowledge.

“We are going to improve the facilities and give them high quality driving education.

“As our youths acquire good driving skills, they will make our roads safer not only in Kano, but by extension the country at large.”
