Kano govt reaffirms January 31 deadline for land recertification

Kano State Government has reiterated that the deadline for land recertification remains January 31, 2025.

According to the Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar, the ministry has made significant progress in the recertification process, with over 2,000 lands recertified since the exercise began in 2024.

Umar emphasised that the deadline will not be extended and warned that landowners who fail to recertify their lands risk losing them.

He encouraged landowners to take advantage of the exercise, which aims to provide accurate and secure land ownership records.

The commissioner assured that officials will attend to all landowners who come to renew their titles before the deadline.

After the recertification deadline, the Ministry will begin certifying houses, shops, and farm lands, as part of efforts to ensure orderly land ownership and development in the state.
