Kano govt prohibits school fees increase for private schools

The Kano State Government has prohibited private schools operating in the state from increasing their fees.

Special Adviser to the Kano State Government on Private Schools, Baba Umar, gave these instructions during a meeting with private school stakeholders.

Umar noted that the suspension of increment of school fees for private schools ensures that there are no exploitations.

The schools are also expected to renew their operating licences per Governor Abba Yusuf’s policy on quality education in the state.

Kano schools are on holiday as school owners look forward to resuming for the first time in a new session after the price hike on commodities due to subsidy removal.
