Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inaugurated a 25-member State Taskforce on Immunisation to strengthen immunisation programs and primary healthcare services in the state.
The taskforce, chaired by Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo and co-chaired by Commissioner of Health Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, aims to provide leadership, support, and oversight for immunization activities and primary healthcare services.
It was stated that the taskforce will be responsible for implementing and reviewing immunisation work plans, advocating for timely and adequate resource allocation, ensuring the judicious use of funds, monitoring progress in healthcare indices, and providing quarterly updates to the State Executive Council.

Additionally, they will review progress in routine immunization delivery to ensure all eligible children are reached.
The Governor expects the taskforce to provide the necessary support to eradicate vaccine-preventable diseases in the state.
The taskforce members were selected for their technical expertise and proven track records, ensuring a positive impact on immunisation efforts and primary healthcare services in Kano State.
