A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has sacked Prof. Sani Lawan Malumfashi as Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC).
However, Justice Simon Amobeda on Tuesday gave the ruling in a case filed by Aminu Aliyu Tiga and the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Justice Amobeda ruled that Malumfashi was disqualified for being a political party card-carrying member.
However, this comes less than 72 hours into the local government elections, slated for October 26, 2024, across the 44 LGAs in the state.
