Kano constituents set to recall lawmaker

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) on Monday acknowledged receipt of a petition for the recall of a serving Kano state lawmaker, Honourable Galadima Kuki, representing Bebeji Constituency.

INEC in a statement made available to newsmen and signed by its Chairman, Information and Voters’ Education Committee, Solomon Soyebi disclosed that it has since notified Honourable Galadima Kuki of his constituents move to recall him.

The statement read in part: “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday, 11th of August, 2017 received a petition for the recall of Honourable Abubakar Galadima Kuki, a Member representing Bebeji Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, from his constituents.”

“In accordance with the INEC Guidelines for Recall, the Commission has formally acknowledged the receipt of the petition to the Petitioners’ representatives and has written to inform Honourable Kuki of the presentation of the petition.”

“A timetable and schedule of activities pursuant to the petition will be issued shortly.”
