Kano: Abducted seven-year-old boy found dead in water canal

A seven-year-old Khalifa Saminu Saleh was discovered dead in a water canal in the Kuruma community of Bunkure Local Government Area in Kano state on Monday morning, six days after he was kidnapped by unknown men.

It will be recalled that Khalifa was reported kidnapped a week ago in Rano local government.

This, however, prompted an extensive search effort initiated by concerned authorities and residents.

However, the incident was reported to the Rano Police Station in Kano, and immediately he went missing.

While speaking with a resident who preferred anonymity, disclosed that Khalifa was last seen on his way to the mosque to perform Salatul Tarawih prayers, a routine he followed closely as the mosque was situated near his family’s home.

According to him,” I know the boy very well; he is about 7 years old and he lives with his parents. His father (Alhaji Saminu Saleh) is a young businessman in Rano town,” the source shared.

Khalifa’s father, Alhaji Saminu Saleh, expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Khalifa and also called for thorough investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding his son’s disappearance and death.

All efforts to get the state police command’s reaction over the matter were not successful

But a source who preferred anonymity said that the report has not been received by the command.
