Kalabari monarch’s burial: Police assure maximum security

Ahead of the burial of the late King of the Kalabari Kingdom, King Prof. TJT Princewill, Amachree XI, Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Dr Solomon Arase, has assured dignitaries that would grace the occasion of adequate security.

Arase, a former Inspector General of Police gave the assurance when he received the delegation led by the Chairman of the Burial Planning Committee and only child of the late Monarch, Prince Tonye Princewill who came to formally brief him on the demise of the late King of the Kalabari Kingdom, and arrangements for his burial.
The former IGP who incidentally is from South South zone described the late Monarch as someone who gave selfless service to the people of the Niger Delta.

“He carried himself well and gave selfless Service to the people of the Niger Delta,” the former IGP noted.

Earlier, Prince Princewill who spoke for the delegation officially invited Dr. Arase to the burial and requested his assistance in ensuring adequate security during the ceremony.

The high-powered delegation of eminent indigenes of Kalabari Kingdom in Rivers State also included Pastor Tonye Patrick Cole; Opunabo Inko-Tariah; Chief Dr. David Briggs, and His Royal Highness Dr. Diamond Enoch Tobrin-West. Others were His Highness Anabs Sara-Igbe and Mrs. Chinwe Ezeanya.

The burial is scheduled to hold between November 29th and 30th.
