The Kaduna State government has released a sum of N312 million for the training of over 12,000 primary school teachers as part of its efforts to improve quality of teaching in the state.
This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB) Mr Nasiru Umar, at the official flag-off of Teachers Professional Development (TDP) training programme, which was held at Local Government EducationAuthority Primary School, Unguwar Rimi, Kaduna.
According to him, the training was organised by his board, in collaboration with the state ministry of education, science and technology.
While speaking, Umar reiterated the fact that teachers are indeed and will forever remain a force to reckon with at every facet of the education sector.
He commended the state governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-rufai for his concerned towards improving the standard of education of the common man in the state.
To this end, he said, the sum of N312, 000, 000 was released for the 2015\2016 TPD programme to train 12,675 teachers, 4,225 head teachers, and 421 facilitators in the state.
The board chairman promised to make use of the money for the purpose it was meant for.
