Kaduna LG poll: Gov Sani flags off APC campaign

Published by

Governor Uba Sani of the All Progressive Congress (APC) handed over the APC flags to APC local government chairmanship candidates.

This was even as he commended them for their commitment and the unprecedented support they have garnered ahead of the local government elections slated for 19th October, 2024.

Addressing a crowd at the flag-off of campaign rally for the October local government election, the Governor highlighted the significant strides his administration has made in key sectors across the state, particularly in rural revitalisation and infrastructure development.

Governor Sani noted that since taking office, his government has prioritized rural development, with projects including the construction of 62 roads across 23 local government areas.

He added that 60 secondary schools have been built, and over 200 Local Education Authority (LEA) primary and secondary schools have been equipped within the 255 wards of the state.

The Governor also highlighted achievements in healthcare, with the completion of nine secondary healthcare centers and ongoing work on four additional centers, emphasizing that healthcare is not a privilege but a right for the people of Kaduna State.

Governor Sani lauded the social intervention programs that have benefited 1.9 million vulnerable individuals, bringing them into the financial system.

Additionally, the number of out-of-school children has been reduced by 300,000 through the government’s education initiatives.

In the political arena, Governor Sani pointed out the defection of over 200,000 leaders from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, particularly in Southern Kaduna, which he sees as a testament to the progress his administration has made in promoting justice, equality, and transparency.

Looking ahead to the local government elections, the governor expressed confidence in the APC candidates, assuring them of his full support in advancing rural revitalization and ensuring economic stability across the state.
