Kaduna govt relaxes curfew in 3 LGs

The 24-hour curfew imposed on three local government areas of Kaduna State has been relaxed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This was disclosed by the Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Samuel Aruwan, in a statement.

The curfew was imposed to curtail further breakdown of law and order in  Jema’a, Zango Kataf and Kauru.

The statement noted that it was to enable the people in the affected areas observe the Christmas celebration between December 25th and 26th.

“However, the 24-hour curfew will continue as from 27th December,” the statement declared.

Meanwhile, more troops have been deployed to the southern part of the state in order to strengthen security in the area.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Kaduna and signed by Aruwan

“In order to strengthen security in Southern Kaduna and the state at large, more troops and operatives comprising the Nigerian Army, DSS and other intelligence personnel/investigators have been deployed to ensure the security of citizenry and maintenance of law and order.

‘The Nigerian Police has also deployed various units of Mobile Police, Counter Terrorism Units (CTU) as well as many units of both conventional and undercover police to adequately provide security to the people,” the statement read.
