Kada Cinema to create 50 job opportunities in Calabar – MD

More than 50 jobs are set to be created with the highly-anticipated opening of Kada Cinema now confirmed.

The four-screen cinema, located at Marina Resort in Calabar, will welcome the public on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Trevor Pillay, the Managing Director, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are eagerly preparing to commence operations next week and are poised to offer an exceptional cinematic experience to the people of Cross River and beyond.”

He further revealed plans to employ an estimated 50 staff members at various levels, focusing on recruiting locally and providing comprehensive training and development opportunities for the youth of Cross River State.

Pillay assured the public that the cinema would showcase not only the latest Nollywood releases but also a diverse range of films. Prices for movies will be kept affordable, and special discounts for couples will be available on different days, weeks, and during various celebration seasons.

“We look forward to delivering a fresh entertainment experience for the people of Cross River.

We’ve invested in state-of-the-art technology, ensuring that the equipment here matches the standards of cinemas around the world. Expect up-to-date film releases and a host of red-carpet events.

We aim to stimulate the creative industry. Historical records show that some of the finest Nollywood stars have emerged from Cross River State, and that’s the path we aim to follow. We want the new generation to recognize its potential,” Pillay emphasised.

Pillay also highlighted improved security in the Marina area and called on the government to maintain and enhance these security measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for entertainment lovers.
