JUSUN condemns Rivers court attack, want perpetrators brought to book

President of the Judiciary Staff ?Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Comrade Marwan Mustapha Adamu has condemned the attack on High Court Complex in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital by unknown hoodlums on Friday.

The attacked, according to the JUSUN  president disrupted court proceedings  ?and destroyed government properties.

Comrade Marwan described such act as barbaric, and called on security  ?agencies to bring the perpetrators to book to serve as deterrent.

Marwan who is also a member of the National Executive Council of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said the attacked is uncalled for, because court room is for everyone.

“The National Secretariat of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) condemned the attacked on the High Court Complex, Port Harcourt,  by unknown hoodlums disrupting Courts processes as well as destroying Court properties, causing chaos and rampage on Friday, 11th May, 2018.

“The Union, vehemently frowned at such actions and called on security operatives to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book to save as deterrent to others.

“We wish to also state that the Courts is open to all and so  aggrieved persons or group of persons are to approach the Courts in a Civil manner where such matters could be filed and address rather than taking laws into their hands.”

He further urged members of the union in the state to return to their normal duty as measures have been taken by the security agencies to arrest the situation.
