According to a statement signed by the Deputy General Secretary of JUSUN, Comrade Placidus Nnamani, history would remember the President for this historic achievement, which would free the Judiciary arm of government and the state legislature from the undue control of the state executive.
Specifically, the union also applauded President Buhari, for the inclusion of Comrade Marwan Mustapha Adamu, the president of JUSUN as a member of the committee.
For the union, Comrade Nnamani emphasised that it is either Autonomy for the Judiciary at all levels or nothing, because “that is the only way the Judiciary as an arm of government can be strengthened.”
The JUSUN scribe lamented the undue interference and meddlesomeness in the affairs of most states Judiciaries, adding that an autonomy for them would guarantee an appreciable independence.

Comrade Nnamani Further urged President Buhari to ensure prompt inauguration of the committee and not to delay the process, so that members of the committee can expedite action in this very important assignment.
He said: “We commend President Buhari for including our president Comrade Marwan Mustapha Adamu. We also want to commend him for identifying with us on the struggle for autonomy for Judiciary. We have gone to Court and obtained a judgement in favour of the union and since none of the plaintiffs who are State Governors appealed against the judgement, we had expected them to do the needful but reverse is the case.”
The committee which is headed by Abubakar Malami, SAN, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Senator Ita Enang, Presidential Liaison (NASS), Secretary; is to drive the actualisation of the autonomy granted to the legislature and judiciary at the State level.
The committee membership cut across the affected sectors and would be inaugurated soon.
