Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka has expelled a female student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, for allegedly assaulting a lecturer from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.
The expulsion follows a recommendation by the Student Disciplinary Committee, which found Precious’ actions to be a gross violation of the institution’s disciplinary regulations.
This was contained in a memo obtained by TRIBUNE ONLINE on Friday.
The memo below;
The incident, which went viral on social media, involved Precious attacking Dr Chukwudi Okoye, a lecturer, after he interrupted her while recording a TikTok video on campus.
The university’s decision takes immediate effect, with Precious directed to vacate the premises and return any university property in her possession.
This move by the UNIZIK administration aims to maintain discipline within the institution and address the growing concern over student misconduct.
