Suspected armed robbers invade commercial bank in Ila Orangun

SUSPECTED armed robbers, on Thursday invaded a new generation bank in Ila Orangun, Osun State, killing two persons and carted away huge sums of money.

Findings by the Nigerian Tribune indicated that the affected bank is located around Oke Ejigbo area of the community.

Credible sources informed correspondent that the robbery incident, which caused apprehension in the sleepy community occurred around 3.15pm as the hoodlums shot sporadically into the air to scare the people.

The two persons allegedly shot dead by the hoodlums include one of the security guards in the bank and a customer, who came for a transaction.

The armed robbers, numbering six were said to have escaped after the deadly attack that lasted almost minutes through a village called Ayegun that leads to neighbouring Ekiti State.

As of the time of filing this report, anti-riot policemen were said to be on the trail of the fleeing armed robbers

Efforts to get the reaction of the Police to the incident were unsuccessful as calls put through to the cell phones of the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fimihan Adeoye and the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Folasade Odoro rang out without response.
