JUST IN: Secondus fails to stop PDP convention, Appeal Court strikes out suit

The Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Friday gave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the clearance to hold its national convention following the dismissal of a suit by the suspended National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus.

Secondus went to the court to restrain the PDP from conducting its national convention billed for Saturday and Sunday, October 30 and 31 in Abuja.

The three-man panel dismissed the appeal which was filed on October 14, for lacking in merit.

With the ruling, the coast is now clear for the convention where a successor will be elected to replace Secondus.
