The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Agboola Ajayi, has lost his local government to the candidate of the All Progressives and Congress (APC) and incumbent governor of the state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

According to results announced at the ongoing collation exercise at the INEC office in Akure, the state capital, Ajayi polled 7,814 votes while his rival, Aiyedatiwa scored 14,511 votes.

With Ese Odo being the last local government area announced ahead of the final declaration of the winner,  Aiyedatiwa has swept all the 18 local government areas in the state.

Recall that the PDP candidate, shortly after casting his ballot on Saturday, accused the electoral umpire of bias, calling for the resignation of the commission’s chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu. According to him, the system is compromised.
