Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin, lawmaker-elect representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State, has nominated Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, lawmaker-elect representing Surulere constituency 1, for the Speakership position of the House of Representatives after a three-minute long speech.
The nomination of Gbajabiamila by Jibrin, who is the director-general of Gbajabiamila’s campaign, was followed with encomiums showered on Gbajabiamila around 3.10 pm to 3.15 pm).
Gbajabiamila, who has been a member of the House since 2003, has accepted the nomination.
It will be recalled that Jibrin in 2015, nominated Yakubu Dogara who eventually emerged Speaker, but later fell him.
Now, Jibrin , said he was supporting Gbajabiamila to redeem himself, as he described his preferred candidate as a progressive in the mould of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
