JUST IN: For umpteenth time, national grid collapses

For the fourth time this year, the national power grid has collapsed, leaving the entire country in darkness.

According to reports, the grid collapsed at approximately 3 pm on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has confirmed the development, stating that all interface stations with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) are out of supply.

The blackout has affected customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states, with the EEDC unable to provide services until further notice.

The company is awaiting detailed information on the cause of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre in Osogbo.
