The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations.
Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani.
Dr Tunji-Ojo congratulated Christians across the country on the joyous occasion of Easter, urging them to reflect on the selfless sacrifice and love demonstrated by Jesus Christ, who gave His life for the redemption of mankind.

He called on Nigerians to take advantage of the holiday period to pray for peace, unity, and stability across the nation.
Reaffirming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, the Minister assured citizens of the administration’s continued efforts toward national growth and development.
He also encouraged Nigerians to extend love and goodwill to one another through acts of kindness and generosity during the Easter season.
Dr Tunji-Ojo wished all Christians a joyful celebration and extended warm Easter greetings to all Nigerians.
