JUST IN: 10 persons rescued, many trapped as Lagos three-storey building collapses

No fewer than 10 persons were rescued from the rubble as a three-storey building collapsed on Lagos Island on Thursday,  trapping many residents.

As of the time of filing this report, rescue operations are still ongoing in search of other persons trapped by the collapsed structure.

Those rescued have been carried to nearby hospitals in Lagos Island.

The collapsed building is located at No. 15, Iga Iduganran, close to the Oba of Lagos’s palace.

The Permanent Secretary, of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu said the elite team from the agency’s headquarters, Command and Control Centre has been mobilised to the site for the rescue operation.

Details of what led to the building collapsing are yet to be known
