Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on the queue to vote
THE national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has expressed satisfaction at the peaceful conduct of the presidential and National Assembly election.
Oshiomhole who spoke with journalists at his home town of Iyamho, Etsako West local government area of Edo state said that he was encouraged by the large turnout and the orderly manner of voters there.
He said that whoever triumphed between the APC presidential candidate and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) means a win for the country.
He said: “It is a win for Nigeria but if it is based on how our candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari campaigned, he will win. Shortly before the election, there was a lot of scares as regards his health but he was able to go round the 36 states, unlike Atiku who didn’t go round. It is a win for Nigeria.”
” I have been voting since 1999. The turn-out here today is totally unprecedented and so far, so good but it’s not over until it is over.”
The ruling party national chairman who voted at 11:45 am, however, deplored the late arrival of materials as voting started at about 10:00 am.
He said: “I understand that they didn’t start by 8 but I don’t know why. The young men and women I saw there. I can see many women here today with babies on their back waiting patiently to vote.”
