The people of Agbongbon-Odo Okun area of Ibadan South-East Local Government Area of Oyo State recently trooped out to witness the inauguration of the reconstructed bridge undertaken by Honourable Fatai Adesina.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Honourable Adesina, who is a member of Accord Party caucus in the state House of Assembly from Ibadan South-East Constituency I, said he took up the reconstruction of the bridge after pleas to the council authorities allegedly went unheeded.
The lawmaker said the bridge had completely broken down and cut off several communities when he visited the area, adding that work started immediately after his visit.
Adesina noted that the rebuilding of the bridge and other projects being sponsored by Accord Party lawmakers fell within the responsibility of the councils.
He explained that the project was executed through direct labour approach to pave the way for the ordinary people to make money to cushion the effect of the current economic recession.
The lawmaker to consider their personal comfort but to use their offices to promote the well-being of the people.
A leader in one of the communities, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Abimbola, who thanked Adesina for coming to their rescue, said the reconstruction of the bridge had allayed their fears as another rainy season approaches.
